Rich and decadent, Christmas fudge is the holiday dessert that is guaranteed to bring the Christmas spirit. Plus, it's a perfect last-minute homemade gift to share with friends, family, and neighbors. If you’ve never made fudge before, it may seem intimidating, but no stress—our two-step recipe only requires 10 minutes of prep and minimal cook time. Trust us—in no time, it will become your go-to holiday treat. Here’s everything you need to know:
The secret to making the best fudge:
There are a few things about this recipe that truly make it special. First, our base fudge recipe here is a bit more chocolatey and a little less sugary, which is our perfect combo for fudge—it’s rich, but not too rich that you can’t enjoy bite after bite. Second, we stir our fudge mixture constantly on the stovetop. This ensures our fudge is perfectly smooth and combined—no grainy fudge here.
The best chocolate for fudge:
That's up to you! We prefer chocolate chips on the darker side, about 60-70% cacao. If you prefer more of a sweeter fudge, semi-sweet chocolate chips are also a classic favorite.
How to decorate Christmas fudge:
To make it extra festive, we topped our chocolate fudge with Christmas sprinkles. But, feel free to decorate how you please! Use a combination of sprinkles—colorful, snowflakes—to turn your fudge into a winter wonderland, or top with candy, toasted nuts or even flaky sea salt—this recipe is nothing if not adaptable.
Storage:
If you have leftovers—or if you want to make fudge ahead of time to enjoy all season long—store them in an airtight container in the fridge for around 3 weeks.
